Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church is a parish of the Eastern Pennsylvania Diocese of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA).

Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church is a Pan-Orthodox, multi-ethnic parish whose members come from a host of American, Slavic, European, Greek, Middle Eastern, and African backgrounds. Established in 1963, the parish has developed and grown spiritually, as well as numerically, into a dynamic Orthodox Christian community. We offer a wide range of liturgical, educational, and social programs, as well as missionary, evangelical, and local outreach endeavors.

We invite you to visit us and learn more about the Orthodox Church. Discover the Church that maintains a fidelity to scripture and doctrine and can trace its unbroken roots back to Apostolic times.

Miraculous, Myrrh-Streaming Iveron Icon of the Mother of God from Honolulu, Hawaii will be visiting Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church (5501 Old Locust Lane, Harrisburg, PA) on Thursday, October 21st at 7pm. All our faithful (and their friends) are encouraged to come and venerate this holy icon and receive anointing from its Holy Myrrh for consolation and healing. Such wonder-working icons are a reminder of God's active desire to reach-out to us, and tangibly bless us with His Divine love and presence.

“Agia Sophia Harrisburg” Coffee Shop and Bookstore

UPDATE: May 8, 2010

To date the Orthodox Christian Charities of Greater Harrisburg, Inc (O.C.C.G.H), has raised over $40,000.00 for our proposed Orthodox Coffee House - "Agia Sophia". Our goal is $80,000.00. However, if we are able to secure a $30,000.00 loan (which is what our proforma anticipated) that means we are $10,000.00 from our goal. Please keep this project in your prayers, and if you know of anyone who may be interested in supporting this project, please share our information with them. There is now a weekly Pan-Orthodox Bible Study being offered for downtown workers and other interested individuals at the offices of the O.C.C.G.H., 33 N. 2nd Street (between Bourbon Street Station and Molly Branigans), on Wednesday's at 12pm. We are currently studying the Gospel of St. Mark. Bring your lunch, coffee is on the house! Contact Fr. Stephen for more information.
