Theophany Eve - 01/05/09

On Monday, January 5th members of our parish community gathered for our annual Theophany Holy Supper. Traditional fasting foods were served and authentic Christian fellowship was shared by all. Following the meal the services of Great Compline and the Great Blessing of Water were sung. We are reminded of the fundamental message of this feast: God became man and revealed Himself, giving us the opportunity to share in the light of His Divinity. He was baptized by John the Forerunner in the waters of the Jordan to sanctify all of creation, but most especially fallen humanity.
