IOCC is issuing an emergency appeal for its continuing response with cash funds going towards immediate clean-up and recovery efforts. Orthodox faithful, including Sunday Schools, youth groups and others, are also urged to continue providing emergency clean-up buckets and health kits for shipment to the Gulf Coast . IOCC distributed 1,000 such kits in New Orleans and Baton Rouge immediately following Hurricane Gustav.

The Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania is pleased to announce that one of her own is preparing to become a long-term OCMC missionary to Romania. Christina Semon, a parishioner of All Saints Orthodox Church in Olyphant, has been selected to work at the St. Dimitrie Program and Protection of the Theotokos Family Center in Romania.

Fr. Michael Mihalick, an OCA priest, has cared for those sick in soul and body. Now, due to an agressive form of multiple sclerosis, he has been forced to retire from active ministry. Fr. Michael is 56 years old and no longer able to care for himself or his family. He cannot walk or talk very well and is in constant need of his wife's care. His wife has medical problems of her own and is unable to work. She has no health insurance. They need help to pay for her health insurance and their household bills. Any monetary donation would be greatly appreciated. During this time of Great Lent, let us open our hearts to help those in need.
